Two gardai who were attached to the Aliens Office have settled legal proceedings against the Garda authorities and the State, the High Court was told yesterday. Garda Brendan Clarke and Garda Fergus McCarthy claimed they had been transferred from the Aliens Office without justification in August 1992.
In a statement which was read in court, it was said that the defendants were happy to confirm that the two gardai remained in good standing in the force.
