Gardai have called on witnesses to come forward following an accident today on the main Dublin-Cork Road about 2 miles south of Monasterevin.
The accident involved two cars, a BMW and a Vauxhall Cavalier.
A 19 year old female passenger in the Cavalier was killed. The two male drivers of each car were injured and taken to Portlaoise hospital.
The deceased who is from Northern Ireland has not been named.
