Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a robbery at a Dublin bakery on Monday.

The robbery in the early hours of Monday morning happened at Clarkes Bkery on the Navan Road.

Three masked men went into the bakery using the back entrance and assaulted two employees before tying them up. A man in his 60s remains in a serious condition in Beaumont Hospital following the raid.

The raiders who wore balaclavas ransacked the premises and made off with an undisclosed sum of cash. The alarm was raised by another employee at 4.15am who managed to free his two colleagues.

Both men were taken to hospital and were initially released after they were treated for minor injuries. However, the man in his 60s took ill later and was brought back to Beaumont.
