A prizewinning horse stolen from the Dublin Horse show was returned to its owners last night after gardaí apprehended a teenager riding the animal bareback along Anglesea Road, Dublin.

According to gardaí the grey mare, Star of Cashel was valued at over £30,000 and was stolen from the Royal Dublin Society showgrounds in Ballsbridge after 8 p.m.

The 15-year-old rider was questioned over the incident and a file will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
