Gardai make one arrest after man dies in Cork

A man in his early twenties is being questioned by gardai in connection with the death of a young man in a flat on Wellington Road in Cork city last night.

The arrest was made in the Gurranabraher estate in Cork and he is being questioned under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

The man's body was found at about 10am in an apartment in Park View on Wellington Road, Cork, near the city centre.

The State Pathologist, Dr Marie Cassidy is expected to carry out a post mortem on the later tonight.

Meanwhile in Waterford, the body of a 60-year-old man was found in an apartment in Henrietta Street yesterday evening.

The scene has been preserved for examination by the Garda Technical Bureau. The State Pathologist, Dr Cassidy has carried out a preliminary examination of the scene.
