Gardai investigate two overnight murders in Dublin

Gardaí have launched a murder investigation into the fatal stabbing of a 17-year-old man in Coolock last night.

Gardaí have launched a murder investigation into the fatal stabbing of a 17-year-old man in Coolock last night.

The incident happened outside a leisure complex on the Malahide Road shortly after 11 p.m.

The man was stabbed in the chest and died from his injuries during the night at Beaumount Hospital.

The scene is preserved for Garda technical examination and a post mortem will be carried out later today.

In a separate incident a 32-year-old man was fatally stabbed at Fatima Mansions in the early hours of this morning.

The man was stabbed in the stomach shortly before 3 a.m. He was taken to St James Hospital where he died a short time later.

A post mortem will be carried out later today.

Gardaí have appealed for anyone with information on the incidents to come forward.
