A man was in a serious condition in hospital in Dublin today after suffering a brutal attack.
He was found lying in a laneway off Tyrconnell Road, Inchicore shortly after 10pm with severe head and facial injuries. He is being treated at St James' Hospital.
The laneway has been preserved for a forensic examination by crime scene investigators.
Gardai have yet to establish the identity of the man who is described as being 5ft 9in tall of slim build with short dark hair and a tattoo of a cross on his upper left arm.
