A man will appear in Kilmainham Court this morning to be charged in connection with an axe attack in the Kilmainham area at the weekend.
Mr Ralf Hirsch, a 28-year-old German, suffered serious head injuries in the assault, which happened on waste ground , near Heuston Station, at 11.30 p.m. on Sunday.
The victim is being treated at St James's Hospital, where he is described as "stable". Detectives are hoping to interview him when his condition improves.
