Gardai in Dublin arrested two young men following the seizure of a gun and ammunition early today.
As part of a routine patrol in the Deansrath area of Clondalkin in the early hours of this morning, gardaí stopped two males and seized a single barrel sawn-off shotgun and a quanity of ammunition, a Garda statement said.
The pair were in their mid and late teens.
They were arrested and detained under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 at Clondalkin and Ballyfermot Garda stations.

One of those arrested has been charged and released on bail to appear before the Dublin District Court in May.
The other male remains in custody.
