Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man was fatally struck by a train in Dublin yesterday evening.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man was fatally struck by a train in Dublin yesterday evening.

The 26-year-old died after being hit by a DART on the line between Corr Bridge and Howth Lodge level crossing in the vicinity of Claremont Road. The incident happened at 7.15 p.m.

A Garda spokesman said he was wearing a denim jacket, white and blue shirt and blue trousers. The man has been identified but not named as yet.
