GARDAÍ ARE continuing their investigations following the shooting dead of a man in a Dublin pub over the weekend.

A gunman entered the Black Horse Inn in Inchicore at about 12.15am on Saturday morning and fired a number of shots, killing the victim, aged 22, and injuring another man, aged 21.

The attacker then left the pub, walked across Tyrconnell Road and turned to fire a number of shots back towards the pub.

The fatally injured man was taken to hospital, where he later died.

The second victim’s injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Gardaí condemned the incident and also the firing of the gun back towards the pub. More people might have been injured as a result of this, they said over the weekend.

This apparently was the second time in the evening that the man had been targeted.

According to gardaí, a red car drove into the pub car park on Friday at about 11.09pm, about an hour before the fatal shooting, and two armed men left the car and entered the bar.

The armed men, who appeared to be looking for several people, failed to find the victim, who was in the toilet at the time, according to reports.

The armed men then left the pub and drove towards Bluebell. No shots were fired during this earlier incident.

Gardaí were called to the pub as a result of this incident and left only a short time before the second incident, during which the two men were shot.

The area was sealed off for a technical examination, and remained closed all through the weekend.

Gardaí are now appealing for witnesses to either of the two incidents.
