Two teenage girls who disappeared from their homes on the north side of Cork on December 6th have been asked to contact their parents urgently.

Gemma Heaphy (14) and Yvonne Carroll (15), from the Kilmore Road area of Knocknaheeny in Cork, are close neighbours. They are students at the Terence MacSwiney secondary school in Knocknaheeny.

According to gardai, the girls left the city with little money and it is understood they worked at a fast-food outlet in O'Connell Street, Dublin, until December 10th. They left when gardai in Store Street station began to make inquiries. It is believed they are still in the State.
