Planning applications for the construction of more than 400 new houses and apartments have been submitted to Galway Corporation in the past month alone, as a building boom in the city continues unabated.
The demand is such that property developers are now anxiously awaiting the publication of the new city development plan in the hope that more land on the outskirts will be rezoned for housing.
