Arthur Fields: 50 Years as a Photographer on O’Connell Bridge
A gallery of photos by and of the photographer Arthur Fields that feature in a documentary currently being made called ‘Man on Bridge: 50 Years as a Photographer on O’Connell Bridge’.
Arthur, a Jewish Ukrainian who became a Dublin institution, worked as a street photographer taking photographs of passersby on O’Connell Bridge in Dublin.
He took an estimated 182,500 photographs on the bridge over a 50 year period.
’Man on Bridge’ which is being made by of El Zorrero Films will work as a collection point for the many photographs taken by Arthur over the years and will enable the public to contribute their photos to a web based archive.
