The GAA’s Games Administration Committee will tonight receive proposals from the Hurling Development Committee regarding the development of the All-Ireland Hurling championship.

Fronted by former Kilkenny manager Nicky Brennan, the HDC met last night to finalise and agree on the proposals. The HDC members will hand the draft to Croke Park tonight when they meet with leading GAA officials.

A championship format similar to the one adopted, on a trial basis, at Special Congress for the upcoming football championship is envisaged, whereby virtually every county will be guaranteed at least two matches.

Galway's situation is primary to the proposals as the county is demanding a guarantee of two matches but won't play in another provincial championship, i.e Leinster or Munster.
