The GAA have appointed a five-man committee to investigate alleged under-the-table payments made to inter-county football and hurling managers.
GAA President Sean McCague, speaking at a Cavan county convention last December, expressed his concern the amateur status of the game was being put in jeopardy.
The investigating group members will report directly to the GAA management committee with their findings.
If irregularities are found the GAA will move quickly to enforce strict sanctions to eradicate the problem.

One solution could see managers being governed by the same rules as players, whereby a player must be resident in a county before playing for them - providing, of course, they have switched club allegiances to that county.
