A man at the centre of a failed attempt to extradite him to Britain was further remanded in custody for two weeks on an IRA membership charge in Dublin yesterday. Mr Anthony Duncan (26), from Kippure Park, Finglas, Dublin, appeared at a sitting of the Dublin District Court in Green Street.

Mr Duncan is charged with membership of the IRA on April 12th. Judge William Early remanded him in custody until May 17th. An assistant State Solicitor, Mr Brendan Counihan, applied for the remand to allow for preparation of a book of evidence.

A Scotland Yard extradition application was refused last month because there was a "fundamental flaw" in documents.
