Further arrest in Derry organised-crime raids

A 16th person has been arrested in Derry in a series of police raids in the city in an operation targeting organised crime.

A 16th person has been arrested in Derry in a series of police raids in the city in an operation targeting organised crime.

A woman was arrested this morning. Ten men and five women were detained yesterday in a series of raids on homes and businesses. Cigarettes were also seized.

Six people have been charged with money laundering and deception and are due to appear before magistrates on April 25th.

Nine others have been released on police bail, and one remained in custody.

The PSNI investigation is targeting suspected money laundering and the sale and distribution of counterfeit goods.

Officers from the PSNI's Organised Crime Branch and the Foyle District Command Unit were involved in the raids on either side of the River Foyle.
