The funeral of an Irish vet who was murdered while working in Wales last October is due to take place tomorrow.

The removal of Catherine Gowing (37), from Clareen in Birr, Co Offaly, took place tonight.

She will be buried at St Flannan's Cemetery in Kinnitty tomorrow following midday Mass at Kinnitty Church.

Ms Gowing was last seen alive at a supermarket in Queensferry near her New Brighton home on October 12th.

Clive Sharp (46), of Bethesda, Gwynedd, was arrested and charged with her murder. He was remanded in custody and is due to appear in court again this month.

Human remains subsequently discovered by Welsh police at a pond in Sealand and on the banks of the River Dee near Chester were identified as those of Ms Gowing.

Ms Gowing is survived by her mother Maureen, father John and sister Emma.
