Evry - A French court yesterday dropped on a technicality a politically damaging corruption case against Ms Xaviere Tiberi, wife of the troubled mayor of Paris, Mr Jean Tiberi.
The court in this southern Paris suburb ruled that charges of her involvement in a 1994 payroll scandal were invalid for reasons of procedure.
But the months of publicity over the case have left their mark on the mayor of the French capital, who has been under pressure from his political cronies to resign due to a string of corruption allegations, including those against his wife.
