Do you have Bono’s autograph? A guitar used by members of Thin Lizzy? Or, perhaps, an item associated with the Beatles or the Rolling Stones when they visited Ireland – and wondered what it might be worth?

An “Antiques Rockshow” in Dublin next week is offering free valuations and the chance for old rockers to make some money from attic clutter. Specialists from international auctioneers Bonhams will be on hand at the Hard Rock Cafe in Temple Bar on Friday, March 23rd “to give a valuation to any genuine piece of music history”. A spokeswoman for the auctioneers said: “Many iconic names in rock and pop have played in Dublin venues,” and that memorabilia such as posters or autographs “could be worth more than you think”. She said Bonhams has sold “many Irish items relating to bands including U2” at auction, including an autographed copy of a limited-edition 12-inch record for £1,800.
