The Garda fraud squad might be called in to investigate the financial affairs of solicitor Michael Lynn, the High Court heard today.

Mr Justice Peter Kelly will decide next week whether he should send papers relating to Mr Lynn to the National Bureau for Fraud Investigation.

The number of writs issued in civil proceedings against Mr Lynn, whose practice has been closed by the Law Society, has now risen to 55.

More banks have applied for judgment against Mr Lynn and a solicitor in his firm, Fiona McAleenan, has claimed her signature was forged on undertakings given to banks.
