Gardaí in Tuam, Co Galway, are investigating the death of a 60-year-old woman in a single vehicle traffic accident just before 9 a.m. yesterday at Abbeyknock- moy, Galway.

The victim was named last night as Ms Jacqueline Higgins, Ballinasloe, Co Galway.

Around the same time a male motorcyclist was killed in an accident on the Gorey to Wexford Road.

Enniscorthy gardaí said they are satisfied the crash did not involve any other vehicle.

At 12.30 a.m. yesterday morning a man was killed when the car he was driving was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle at Grange Cross, Rathnure, Co Wexford. The dead man was named as Mr David Donnelly (22) from Moran Park, Enniscorthy.

Gardai in Santry have named the pedestrian killed on Turnapin Lane on Sunday as Ann Crosbie, from St Cronins Close in Swords, Co.Dublin, she was 53.
