Think we have it bad in Ireland when it comes to our weather? Take a look at some of these videos uploaded from around the world and showing giant hailstones, lightning storms, forest fires, melting glaciers and an iceberg 'tsunami'

</p> <p>The town of Cardston, Alberta, was hit by giant hailstones last night. This footage shows hail pounding a residential neighbourhood. This video shows a dramatic flash of lightning suddenly transforming pitch dark into a scene as bright as midday.</p> <p class="nosyndication"><iframe width="600" height="450" frameborder="0" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/WEbXrnfKVqE" allowfullscreen=""/></p> <p>A summer storm overnight in Portugal brought some spectacularly bright lightning, all the more evident when this uploader slows down the video to show daylight-like conditions. The video was filmed in the north of Portugal near the Douro River.</p> <p class="nosyndication"><iframe width="600" height="450" frameborder="0" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/r-fleDYThtA" allowfullscreen=""/></p> <p>As a period of dry heat continued in the central US, a wildfire scorched areas of Nebraska and Arkansas on July 25th. The video above shows the scene in Ola, Arkansas, a small town west of Little Rock which had to be evacuated due to the fire.</p> <p class="nosyndication"><iframe width="600" height="450" frameborder="0" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/axJMXB9unBk" allowfullscreen=""/></p> <p>After rapidly intensifying during the course of Monday, typhoon Vicente battered the city of Hong Kong throughout the evening and into the morning of July 24th.</p> <p class="nosyndication"><iframe width="600" height="450" frameborder="0" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/hp59_7_fk5I" allowfullscreen=""/></p> <p class="nosyndication">Three people were killed after wildfires swept Spain’s Alt Empordà region destroying 13,000 hectares and cutting road and rail links with France. This video features footage of what is claimed to be the Alt Empordà fires filmed at night. </p> <p class="nosyndication"><iframe width="600" height="450" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/HB3K5HY5RnE"/></p> <p>This video shows a large piece of an iceberg breaking free and falling into the water, creating a large wave that threatened to engulf a boat off the coast of Greenland. </p> <p class="nosyndication"><iframe width="600" height="450" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="" mozallowfullscreen="" webkitallowfullscreen="" src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/46317789"/></p> <p>This video, captured on June 17th but uploaded on July 24th, provides some high-quality timelapse footage of a storm passing over West Glacier National Park, Montana. The description states: “On June 17th, a heavy storm passed through West Glacier National Park. Lucky for Chris, he was caught in the middle of it.”</p>
