The town of Cardston, Alberta, was hit by giant hailstones last night. This footage shows hail pounding a residential neighbourhood. Fast forward the video to the 40th second, when the hail becomes particularly heavy.

Storms hit the US mid west and northeast last night. This video shows a dramatic flash of lightning suddenly transforming pitch dark into a scene as bright as midday.

A summer storm overnight in Portugal brought some spectacularly bright lightning, all the more evident when this uploader slows down the video to show daylight-like conditions. The video was filmed in the north of Portugal near the Douro River.

As a period of dry heat continued in the central US, a wildfire scorched areas of Nebraska and Arkansas on July 25th. The video above shows the scene in Ola, Arkansas, a small town west of Little Rock which had to be evacuated due to the fire.

After rapidly intensifying during the course of Monday, typhoon Vicente battered the city of Hong Kong throughout the evening and into the morning of July 24th.
