Suva - Fijian rebel leader George Speight has been charged with criminal offences and is still being investigated for treason, police said yesterday.
The charges mean Speight should be brought from his island prison of Nukulau to a court in Suva. But Assistant Commissioner Moses Driver said a hearing date had not been set. He would not give further details of the charges but said they were not related to treason.
