The Fine Gael spokesman on Northern Ireland, Mr Brian Hayes, has asked why the British government should move on the issue of allowing republicans who are "on the run" back to the North, when the IRA refuses to lift exclusion orders against named individuals. "For too long all the paramilitary organisations have been let off the hook on this issue. Republican and loyalist paramilitaries have banished countless numbers of people from Northern Ireland over the last 30 years," he said.
