Les Ferdinand will undergo a scan on his injured ankle today to determine whether he faces another long lay-off.

The 34-year-old striker, who came off the bench at half-time to inspire a fine Tottenham fightback in their 3-2 win over Bolton last night, collapsed in agony moments before the final whistle.

Ferdinand landed awkwardly and twisted the same ankle which he hurt at West Ham a week ago and which forced him out of Thursday's Worthington Cup win at Fulham.

Spurs boss Glenn Hoddle explained after the game: "Les has unfortunately twisted his ankle and we shall have to see how it is when he has a scan. It is the same ankle he has had a slight problem with this week.
