A murder investigation has been opened after a father of triplets was found dead at his home in Lisburn, Co Antrim, yesterday. His body was understood to have been discovered in an upstairs bedroom of the house in the Belsize Road area.

Mr Paul Gault (33) is believed to have suffered head injuries. He was found by his wife. The RUC appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

A 37-year-old man is recovering in hospital after being shot in the right leg by a number of men in Larne, Co Antrim, on Friday shortly after 11 p.m. The attack took place in the Doric Drive area. Police are still investigating a motive for the assault.

Meanwhile, a security firm employee has been shot in the leg as he attempted to deliver cash to a cash-point machine outside the Botanic Inn bar on Belfast's Malone Road yesterday around lunchtime. The condition of the man is not considered to be serious. The robbers escaped in a white Volvo car.
