A man in his 50s was shot in the foot by raiders during an attempted armed robbery at his farm outside Downpatrick this morning.
The farmer was confronted by two men armed with a shotgun at the farm on the Tullymacree Road this morning.
The victim was thrown to the ground and shot in the foot during a scuffle after the men demanded money. The attackers escaped empty-handed in a red hatchback.
