Three English-based soccer supporters who caused disturbances in Dublin city centre were spared forfeiture of tickets to the Ireland-Belgium soccer match yesterday. Judge Catherine Murphy had threatened to have the three Luton men hand over their tickets but instead accepted donations of £150 each to the court poor box.

Michael Shadlow (25), of Swifts Green Road; Joseph Ryan (24), of Hartley Road; and Simon O'Reilly (18), of Kestrel Way, all in Luton, pleaded guilty at Dublin District Court to breach of the peace, drunk and disorderly and failing to leave a scene in Temple Bar on Tuesday night. The three are members of the English-based Republic of Ireland Supporters Club, of which Shadlow's father was chairman.
