Football Association vice-chairman Frank Pattison has resigned, becoming the second high-profile figure to leave the English governing body in less than a week.

Pattison sent his letter of resignation to FA chairman Geoff Thompson, citing his concerns at recent developments in the running and regulation of the association.

His departure follows that of FA chief executive Adam Crozier, who resigned from his post last Thursday.
