Uncapped fullback Pepito Elhorga has been recalled to the French squad to face Wales at the Stade de France on St Patrick’s Day.

Elhorga, forced to withdraw from the squad that beat Italy 30-19 last weekend because of a calf injury, replaces David Bory in the only change to the squad. Veteran Jean-Luc Sadourny played at fullback against the Italians.

Centre Yannick Jauzion was not considered because of a thigh injury while utility backs Xavier Garbajosa and Emile Ntamack, who also have thigh injuries, have not recovered in time.

A decision on whether the match goes ahead will be made before the weekend. The match is under threat because of the foot-and-mouth epidemic in Britain which French officials want to keep out of their country.

Agriculture Minister Jean Glavany told today's edition of Les Echos: "We must make the decision before the weekend, but in the current state of things, I would say yes."If the situation is the same as it is now then there would be no reason not to play the match."
