Manchester - A trainee nurse who was killed after being attacked by a performing elephant in Thailand was on a holiday with her family to get over the recent death of her mother, it emerged yesterday.

Ms Andrea Taylor (23), from Wigan, Greater Manchester, died in hospital after a bull elephant charged at the crowd during a show in Jomtiem, near the popular tourist resort of Pattaya. Her sister Helen (20), and father Geoffrey (53), were also hurt in the attack, at the private-run Suan Nong Nuch animal park, south-east of Bangkok.
