An elderly woman has been killed in a road incident in Co Galway this evening.
The incident occurred at 5.30 p.m. in Invern. A female pedestrian and her husband, both in their 80s, were crossing the road when they were struck by a car.
The woman died in the incident.
Both the woman and her husband were taken to Galway University Hospital.
