GREAT WAR PROJECT

A new first World War project, involving over 20 Monaghan students from St Macartan’s College and Monaghan Collegiate School, was launched on Friday, November 20th. Young people will investigate and record the involvement of local people in the war, and how it was reported and experienced at the time. The project will culminate with a visit to Flanders field where the students will visit the graves of the soldiers who fell. stmacs.com/World-War-1-Project.

A new module devised by one of Ireland’s best-known forestry experts, Dr Gerhardt Gallagher, and broadcaster Éanna Ní Lamhna, aims to create an understanding of the nature of woods and forests and encourage a sense of stewardship of the forest environment.
