I went to Elmwood Senior Secondary School in Glasgow.

Who was your favourite teacher and why?

My favourite teacher was Mr Duffy, who taught me physics. He made the subject fun.

Who was your childhood idol?

Clark Gable.

Who was your best friend and why?

My best friend was Liz Clarke. We sat together on the first day of school and we have remained good friends ever since.

What is he/she doing now?

Now she works as the editor of a small newspaper in Edinburgh.

What TV show/film most reminds you of your school days? Magpie.

What song most reminds you of your school days? Daydream Believer by the Monkees.

What food most reminds you of your school days?

Toffee Yo-Yos and Appletizer.

Who did you take to your debs?

I went to an all-girls school and no boys were allowed to the debs, so I didn't go.

Would you send your children to the same school you went to?

No.

What was the best thing about your education? Well, it got me where I am today.

What was the worst thing about your education?

I really didn't like school very much.
