The Eastern Health Board is hosting an all-day conference on Thursday, March 25th, which looks at the "Marte Meo Method". Marte Meo is a video-based communication programme which provides concrete information to parents and others involved with children on how to support social, emotional and language development.
This method is now widely used in Eastern Health Board family programmes - and is also easily accessible to parents. It was initiated in Holland in the 1970s by Maria Aarts, who will address the conference. The conference should be of interest to parents, teachers, preschool leaders and childcare professionals.
