The Sacred Heart Secondary School in Clonakilty, Co Cork, is holding an open day on Sunday, November 22nd, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The 60-year-old girls' school run by the Mercy Order wants local people, past pupils, and "friends of the school" to attend, says the principal, Sister Eilis McGrath.
Sacred Heart currently has 570 students. It offers programmes for the Leaving Cert Applied and the Leaving Cert Vocational as well as the standard Leaving Cert, and also provides a special repeat Leaving class. It has an up-to-date Information and Computer Technology (ICT) department, and all students study speech and drama throughout second-level school.
