Baywatch star David Hasselhoff will not be the new rector of the University of Dundee. Hustings took place last week for the five nominees, but Hasselhoff, a student nominee, had already told the university that he would not be able to give time to the job.
Favourite for the post is Scottish comedian Fred MacAulay - nominated along with Conservative MSP Nick Johnston, Countdown host Richard Whiteley and Islamic scholar Abdal-Fattah El-Awaisi.
