European Central Bank executive board member Jose Manuel Gonzalez-Paramo said today that National Asset Management Agency (Nama) and efforts by the Irish Government to stabilise the national finances are helping to restore confidence in Irish banks.

Mr Gonzalez-Paramo comments came during an event hosted by the Institute of International and European Affairs at the Dublin Writer's Museum today.

Mr Gonzalez-Paramo also said that price stability remains the central bank's "primary objective."
