Budget airline easyJet today announced it was to open services from Belfast International Airport to Geneva, Palma and Inverness from July 1st next year.

The Inverness route will be daily while flights to Palma and Geneva will be four times a week.

The airline said it recognised the "great potential" for low cost services connecting Northern Ireland with attractive cities throughout Europe.

It said a greater choice of routes would foster more business and leisure travel in both directions to benefit the local economy.
