Easyjet sees revenues rise

Revenues for the quarter grew to £486.5 million (€714.44 million), though revenue per seat fell by 8.0 per cent to £41.46.

"EasyJet's full year guidance remains unchanged, [and] for the year to September 2007 the company expects pre-tax profit growth of 40 per cent to 50 per cent," the airline said.

"Fourth quarter unit cost reductions, excluding fuel, will continue at a similar rate to the third quarter and better than previously expected," it said, noting full-year unit fuel costs would be slightly lower than last year.

EasyJet shares were up 6.5 per cent at 541 pence earlier this morning.

EasyJet also reported that its July traffic rose by 17.5 per cent to 3.72 million passengers. The airline's load factor for July, a measure of how efficiently it filled available seats, fell by 1.8 percentage points to 88.6 per cent.
