Twelve people will appear at a special sitting of Dublin District Court this morning charged in connection with a mass brawl in a Dublin City pub last night.

The incident occurred at Mulligan's in Stoneybatter when a fight broke out between up to 50 people attending a private function.

Up to 45 Gardai, including the dog unit, were sent to the scene and 13 people were arrested.

Three people were treated for injuries caused by glasses and furniture being thrown.

Nine men and one woman are being held at the Bridewell Garda St pending their 10.30 a.m. court appearance.

Three others were taken to Store St Garda Station where one man was subsequently released.

No staff or gardaí sustained injuries during the incident. The pub is reported to have been extensively damaged.
