Leinster Senior Hurling Championship round-up:Offaly held off a defiant Wexford at O'Connor Park in Tullamore to win through the semi-finals on the back of a 2-12 to 1-13 victory.

Offaly looked to have wrapped up the match when they stretched their lead to double scores (2-12 to 0-9) with 17 minutes left on the clock.

But back came Wexford, with Jack Guiney burying a free to the back of the Wexford net on the hour to close the gap to five points.

The gap was just two points when Guiney was offered another chance with the placed ball, but another exocet was saved by Offaly goalkeeper James Dempsey, who enjoyed a fine game.

Shane Dooley took the man of the match honours, scoring 1-8 of Offaly’s tally, with Joe Bergin grabbing their second goal.

Offaly now go on to plat the winners of Sunday’s game between Galway and Westmeath at Cusack Park in Mullingar.

Earlier, Dublingot their campaign off to an impressive start with a 3-23 to 1-7 victory over Laoisat O'Connor Park in Tullamore at set up a semi-final with All-Ireland champions Kilkenny.

Liam Rushe scored two fine goals within the first 25 minutes and David Tracy got a touch to a Shane Durkin long ball into the box for Dublin’s third goal on the half hour to give them a 3-8 to 1-1 advantage after Neil Foyle grabbed a three-pointer for Laois after 15 minutes.

Dublin restricted Laois to just two scores in the first half, leading 3-14 to 1-1 at the break and eased off after the break as they booked a place in the semi-finals.

Dublin increased their lead to 27 points (3-22 to 1-1) at one stage before Anthony Daly made use of his bench in the final quarter, with Laois stringing together four straight points after being held scoreless for 41 minutes.
