A man found with more than £45,000 worth of cannabis was jailed for eight years by Judge Yvonne Murphy at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court yesterday. Declan Sullivan (29), of Portland Square, Dublin, pleaded guilty to having five kilos of the drug in the attic of his flat.

Sullivan had been charged under the 1999 Criminal Justice Act which provided for a mandatory 10-year sentence for anyone found with more than £10,000 worth of drugs with intent to supply.
