A man accused of money laundering had charges concerning more than £93,000 sterling struck out in a Dublin court yesterday.

Judge Gillian Hussey had heard that the book of evidence was still not ready, as there were over 100 witnesses in the case. Mr Kevin Meehan (58) of Stanaway Road, Crumlin, appeared in Kilmainham District Court charged with handling a total of £92,351 sterling between August 19th and October 16th last year, knowing it was the proceeds of drug trafficking or other crime.

Mr Terence Hanahoe, solicitor, reminded the judge the case had been going on for almost a year. At an earlier hearing he said Mr Meehan was unemployed and had no access to large sums of money.
