A JUDGE has disqualified a drink driver for 80 years

A JUDGE has disqualified a drink driver for 80 years. David Murphy (35), of Ballyfermot, Dublin, had pleaded guilty in Kilmainham District Court to drink driving at Cherry Orchard Drive on April 14th. His urine reading was 359mg. On March 10th, Garda Fiona O'Dowd arrested him for drink driving in Clondalkin, but he refused to give a sample of blood or urine.

Murphy also admitted stealing £15 worth of Budweiser beer from Crazy Prices in Ballyfermot last Tuesday, and a bottle of brandy from an off licence in Le Fanu Road on August 10th.

Judge Gillian Hussey heard he had 29 previous convictions, all relating to alcohol. "I have a duty to society to take him off the roads," she said, sentencing him to 12 months in jail and disqualifying him for 80 years.
