A SHEEP and cattle farmer died when his quad bike overturned on a farm in a remote area at Doochary, Co Donegal.

Conal McGeehan (54), from Doochary, was found on Sunday pinned beneath the quad at the side of a mountain more than a mile from the nearest road and his home.

Mr McGeehan, who was single and shared the home with his brother, was last seen on Thursday night because his brother was away until Saturday evening. His brother and a neighbour started a search on Sunday morning when they realised Mr McGeehan had not slept in his bed.

The Garda said the quad overturned on a hillside and Mr McGeehan became trapped and was unable to escape.
