Voters must express their dissatisfaction with the Government by voting for Fine Gael on Friday, the party's leader said today.

Speaking at the party's final election press conference in Dublin, Mr Enda Kenny said he was confident of a strong Fine Gael performance in both the European and local elections.

"It would be a tragedy if apathy was to allow this Government off the hook. And nothing would give this Government more comfort than to see the anger of the people dispersed across a large number of parties and individuals. "

Mr Kenny urged the public to "go out and vote. All politicians are not the same. If you are unhappy with the Government don't let apathy help them escape."

He called on Fine Gael voters to give their lower preference votes to Labour and the Green Party in an order of their choice.
