Dishing out the goods

Just when you think Temple Bar has been totally overtaken by stag parties, something always comes along to redeem it

Just when you think Temple Bar has been totally overtaken by stag parties, something always comes along to redeem it. This time it's a new restaurant in Crow Street, with the delightful name of Dish, which is attracting the beau monde and the foodies in considerable numbers. Co-owned by manager Trevor Browne and chef Gerard Foote with the help of Trevor's girlfriend, solicitor Catherine Fitzgerald, Dish has done well since its opening - Ray D'Arcy, Carrie Crowley and Jean Butler were all spotted there during its first week. So our advice is get down there while there's still a table to be had - don't say we didn't warn you.

Meanwhile speculation grows as to whether style guru Terence Conran will be creating a restaurant/ cafe/deli in Brown Thomas. He has certainly been spotted around Dublin in the last few weeks often enough to support the theory, but nothing has been officially confirmed. Watch this space.
